FSMA’s Intentional Adulteration final rule was published on May 26. Also referred to as the “food defense rule,” it is intended to protect the food supply from potential large-scale public harm that could threaten consumers and put your bottom line at risk.

The rule requires facilities to create a written food defense plan in which they must identify areas of their operation vulnerable to intentional adulteration and devise strategies to mitigate that risk.
